Business Type: Pottery
How long have you been in business? I have been making pottery for a year and half.
Where did the idea of this business come from? The more I worked with clay and making pottery, the more I fell in love with it. I have always wanted to run my own business, like my dad, and several people wanted by my pieces, so why not add make my own business.
What are some obstacles you had to overcome? Definitely just getting it off the ground. It took a lot of work and social media marketing to gain a follower base and for the name of my business to ge out.
Where do you see your business in 5 years? I would love to have my own storefront in a small town. I would like to be able to sell internationally by then.
If you were speaking with a younger person who was interested in making pottery, what would you tell them? If I were speaking to a younger person who was interested in pottery, I would say to devote everything you have into it. It is a lot of work at first to build the necessary skills required to make premium pottery, but it is so worth the work. It takes time and a whole lot of patience, but keep going. If you love it, chase it to the end of the earth.
